MANAGER - SHOP & FIELD SERVICES

We are currently searching for a qualified and ambitious individual to manage our shop and field service operations.  This full-time position offers an outstanding career opportunity in one of our fastest growing business divisions.  Successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years service and maintenance experience, and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in an industrial setting.  Candidate must possess a general working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic control systems and equipment components.  Commercial laundry equipment experience preferred, but not required.  We also require a basic understanding of business management, strong motivational and leadership skills, the ability to multi-task, and basic computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Supervises service team on profitable execution of assigned service business.   Ensures consistency of delivery systems.  Monitors and tracks the service business plan.
  2. Works with service team to insure that account portfolios are achieving growth, proper profit levels, and customer satisfaction.
  3. Works with service team to ensure proper manpower and skill levels for the successful and profitable execution of the service business.
  4. Recommends and supports staffing requirements for assigned service business. 
  5. Prepares accurate customer proposals and estimates in a timely manner.
  6. Recruits, hires, and retains service operational staff.  Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans.  Ensures a consistent level of coaching, as well as, operational and financial reviews.
  7. Identifies potential market opportunities for strategic direction. Coordinates with sales team to insure all sales opportunities are properly supported including linkage to installation opportunities.
  8. Performs other duties as related to customer satisfaction, deployment of strategic initiatives to service team, development and maintenance of service team business plans, and account management of service customers.
Must have the ability to interact effectively with employees and customers in difficult situations.  Ability to travel about 30%. Position reports to General Manager. Compensation is based on experience, responsibility and overall job performance.

SHOP & FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIANS

  • High school graduate or additional technical school training in electronics;
  • Mechanical aptitude with additional strengths in pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, and computers;
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and wiring diagrams;
  • Aptitude to troubleshoot to board level on microprocessors;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Ability to analyze, define and propose on-site solutions;
  • Aptitude for plumbing, sheet metal, and electrical; and,
  • Excellent communication skills.
