Train Knocks Out Phone Service In Kent
Posted 2008-09-22
KENT, OH - Due to a train colliding with an 8" thick overhead fiber-optic phone cable Sunday morning at the Main Street bridge, R.W. Martin's main office is among 1,500 AT&T customers in the surrounding Kent area that are without telephone and internet service. Thankfully, it was reported that no one was injured, and our 100-year old stone bridge was not damaged. It is unknown for sure how long service will be disrupted. However, officials are hoping to have service back up starting Wednesday morning. We apologize for this inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding while we work to get our communication lines back up. In the meantime, please know that all Company cell phones are operational.
